Fermín Jiménez Landa takes a close look at the weather forecast. Less interested in its empirical basis and more in its prophetic quality, he combines
the mainstream reach of a TV weather-man with the traditional knowledge and humour of a Swiss Wetterschmöcker (weather sniffer) from the Muota valley. The temperature in the studios of MeteoNews is warmed up or cooled down according to the temperature forecast for the next day – you can watch Peter Wick’s reaction on TV. The sculpture in Löwenbräukunst tries to maintain the same temperature in the centre as in the exhibition space through a nesting-doll system of cooling boxes and warming elements.
Fermín Jiménez Landa’s project can be seen
daily on meteonews.tv
and TV25, as well as on regional TV stations in Switzerland (TeleZüri, TeleBärn, TeleM1, TVO, Tele1, TeleTop, La Télé, etc.)
